Surprising news is emerging from Iran, where officials have reportedly banned Clash of Clash within the country.
A government committee called for restrictions citing a report from psychologists, who said it encouraged violence and tribal conflict. It alleges that the game could also negatively affect family life if teenagers got addicted to the game.
There is concern within the Clasher community in Iran that the real reason is the outflow of US dollars due to the buying of huge quantities of gems. It is believed that about 64% of mobile gamers in Iran play the game.
Iran also banned Pokemon Go in August this time providing unspecified “security concerns” as justification.
Iran based players report that an age based restriction will be imposed. Those living in Iran are already familiar with strong censorship and many will no doubt be already accessing Clash of Clans via alternative means.
