Is Clash of Clans being sold? Maybe so, The Wall Street Journal reports that Chinese Internet major Tencent Holdings Ltd. is in talks with SoftBank Group Corp. to buy the Japanese telecommunications giant’s majority stake in Supercell Oy, the Finland-based maker of some of the world’s most popular mobile games, according to people briefed on the discussions.
The World Street Journal also reports that Supercell’s founders can veto the deal. It seems that Supercell enjoy the autonomy given by Supercell and the concern is that a tie up with Tencent might change that dynamic.
