Clash Today recently reported that Clash of Clans fortunes had taken a dent from Clash Royale. The revenue stream for Clash of Clans is certainly still very strong but there are concerns that Clash of Clans has peaked. There is increasing pressure from wannabe’s, including Clash Royale who are nudging their way in.
However, Clash of Clans still remains the top revenue generator for Google Play in many countries, including India, where it is the top grossing free mobile game on Google Play and the iPad.
India remains a potentially lucrative and unexploited market for Supercell and other contenders. Joost van Dreunen, SuperData claims that mobile gaming is transforming India. van Dreunen says India currently has $416 million in annual revenue for mobile gaming and a year-on-year increase of over 64 per cent, which makes India the fastest-growing mobile market in the region.
Early indicators suggest that India’s mobile games market will triple in the next few years, reaching $1.2 billion by the end of 2018.
If Clash of Clans remains dominant in 2018, expect a huge influx of Indian clashers.
